The New York Jets have been fined $100,000 by the NFL as part of tampering charges related to cornerback Darrelle Revis.
Owner Woody Johnson admitted in December that he would "love" to have Revis back at the club, despite the player being under contract with the New England Patriots.
The Patriots filed tampering charges against the Jets before their Super Bowl triumph, in which the 29-year-old played an integral part as a key member of Bill Belichick's side's defense.
The AFC East side then opted against picking up the option of Revis's contract for the 2015 season, and he was allowed to hit the free-agent market where he was signed by the Jets.
Patriots owner Robert Kraft then made comments about the cornerback which the Jets' complained to the NFL about, resulting in the club filing a formal tampering indictment.
After over a month of deliberating the NFL has decided to fine the Jets $100,000 (£65,000), but has not docked them a Draft pick, while the Patriots have not been punished for their part in the incident.
Revis was named an All-Pro for his exploits with the Patriots in the 2014 season.
