Drew Brees praises New Orleans Saints offense

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees praises his side's offense after they helped him to a career milestone during yesterday's win over the Carolina Panthers.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has heaped praise on his side's offense after they helped him to another career milestone during yesterday's 31-13 win over the Carolina Panthers.

Brees threw for 313 yards and four touchdown passes to become just the fifth player make 50,000 passing yards in his career, while he also became the first quarterback to pass for at least 4,000 yards in eight straight seasons and make at least 30 touchdown passes in six consecutive seasons.

However, despite taking centre-stage with his performance against the NFL's stingiest defense, Brees was keen to acknowledge the contribution of the entire team.

"Love this offense. Love what Sean Payton's put together. We just had great balance. Marques [Colston] came up with some huge catches, as did Jimmy [Graham]. The line did a great job, and the defence did a great job of getting us the ball," Brees told The AP.

"Here we are, attempting to make another run at [the playoffs]. Obviously, some records and some other things, milestones along the way that you get to share, but I'm just glad to be on the journey with this group of guys."

The win was the Saints' 10th of the season and sees them take sole control of the NFC South ahead of the Panthers.
