Half-Time Report: New Orleans Saints narrowly lead Detroit Lions

The New Orleans Saints score the only touchdown of the first half to take a 10-3 lead over the Detroit Lions.

The New Orleans Saints have headed into half time with a narrow 10-3 lead over the Detroit Lions in their NFL clash at Ford Field this evening.

Neither side could make the most of their early chances, but the home side got themselves into a promising position late in the first quarter.

However, a Matthew Stafford throw intended for Golden Tate was picked off by Keenan Lewis to bring Drew Brees and the Saints offense onto the field.

The quarterback cashed in on a strong field position early in the second quarter, picking out full back Austin Johnson for the opening points of the game.

Stafford tried to set up Joique Bell for a rushing touchdown in response, but the running back was held up short, leaving Matt Prater to kick the field goal.

The Saints had the ball again as half time approached, but Brees ran out of time to get another touchdown, leaving Shayne Graham to add a field goal.
