New England Patriots sign linebacker Dane Fletcher

The New England Patriots sign linebacker Dane Fletcher to a one-year contract after being allowed to leave the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The New England Patriots have re-signed veteran linebacker Dane Fletcher.

The 28-year-old was allowed to leave the AFC East side at the end of the 2013 season, and joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fletcher had a solid season with the Buccaneers but his contract with the NFC South side was not extended at the end of the campaign.

However, the Patriots brought the linebacker in for a visit earlier this month and have now signed him to a one-year deal.

Fletcher has recorded 120 tackles, 4.5 sacks and one interception in his four-year NFL career.
