New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski hails Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly as a "great player" ahead of their clash on Monday.

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski believes that Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly is a "great player".

The Panthers drafted the 22-year-old 12th overall in the 2012 Draft and he was voted the Defensive Rookie of the Year.

He has continued that form into this season and is now widely regarded as one of the best players in his position in the NFL.

Gronkowski told reporters: "He (Kuechly) is a great player. You always have to be aware of Luke, wherever he is, because he is very disruptive, and he knows how to make plays."

The Patriots face the Panthers in their week 11 clash on Monday.
