Half-Time Report: New England Patriots edge ahead against Buffalo Bills

The New England Patriots hold a narrow 13-7 lead over AFC East rivals the Buffalo Bills.

The New England Patriots have headed into half time with a 13-7 lead over AFC East rivals the Buffalo Bills following a couple of field goals just before the break.

Both sides struggled to set themselves into a points-scoring position early on, with the Patriots having to wait until the final minute of the first quarter to be able to send on kicker Stephen Gostkowski.

The nine-year veteran had made every field goal attempt this season coming into this game, but his 36-yard effort was wide of the left upright.

New England got the ball back straight away though when linebacker Jamie Collins intercepted a Kyle Orton pass, allowing Julian Edelman to carry the ball downfield before Tom Brady found tight end Tim Wright in the endzone.

However, Orton quickly put the mistake behind him to find Robert Woods for his first touchdown of the season, levelling the scores.

Brady led the Patriots back into a position to regain their lead twice before the end of the second quarter, but they had to settle for Gostkowski field goals on both occasions, leaving them just six points up at the interval.
