Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson will miss the NFC North side's final game of the season with foot and groin injuries.

The Minnesota Vikings have confirmed that Adrian Peterson will miss their final game of the 2013 NFL season.

The running back, who was last season's MVP, has been struggling with lingering foot and groin injuries.

The 28-year-old will finish the season with 1,266 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns.

The Vikings face the Detroit Lions later today.
