Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Greg Jennings believes that the team should give quarterback Christian Ponder time to develop with his new receivers.

Greg Jennings has said that the Minnesota Vikings must give Christian Ponder time to work with his new receivers.

The NFC North side brought in Jennings from the Green Bay Packers, before using a first-round draft pick to acquire Cordarrelle Patterson.

The wide receiver told ESPN: "Every quarterback, you've got to give him time [to develop]. Tell me this, right now, Brett Favre, receivers around him. Aaron Rodgers, receivers around him. Christian Ponder, receivers around him.

"[Ponder] has always been a position where the stress and the pressure was on him, and he really didn't have the help around him to take that load off, outside of [running back Adrian Peterson]. That's it."

Ponder completed 2,935 passing yards in 2012.
