Jay Ajayi placed on IR-return list by Miami Dolphins

Running back Jay Ajayi is ruled out of the first eight weeks of the season as the Miami Dolphins place him on their injured reserve return list.

The Miami Dolphins have put running back Jay Ajayi on their injured reserve return list.

The London-born player was selected in the fifth round of the 2015 Draft by the AFC East side, but sustained broken ribs during pre-season.

Joe Philbin's men have taken the decision to place Ajayi on their IR-return list, which will keep him out of action for the first half of the campaign.

The Dolphins open their season against the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
