Jacksonville Jaguars secure win over Houston Texans

The Jacksonville Jaguars win their second game of the season as they beat the Houston Texans by seven points in their NFL clash at Reliant Stadium.

The Jacksonville Jaguars secured their second win of the season as they beat the Houston Texans by seven points at Reliant Stadium.

The Jaguars took the lead in the game on their opening possession for the second successive week as quarterback Chad Henne led his team downfield and although they were stopped on third and goal, they opted to go for it on fourth down.

Maurice Jones-Drew justified this decision as he powered through the middle of the line to go in for the one-yard score.

Henne drove his side into Texans territory again but this time they were held to a field goal as Josh Scobee nailed his kick between the posts from 30 yards to give his side a 10-point advantage.

However, just before the break the home side got themselves on the board as Case Keenum moved them into field goal range and Randy Bullock made his kick from 49 yards out to pull his side within seven.

After the break, the home side got within four points when Keenum led his side downfield, but he could not punch the ball into the end zone from the five-yard line and Bullock was forced to kick a 20-yard field goal that he put through the posts with ease.

The defenses began to dominate and limited any chance of either side getting on the board again until the fourth quarter when Henne engineered a 42-yard drive which was finished off with a 53-yard field goal from Scobee to hand the Jags a seven-point advantage.

Keenum tried to led his side down the field to tie the game but DeAndre Hopkins dropped his pass into the hands of Jaguars linebacker Ryan Davis, who made the interception to win the game for his team.
