Report: Houston Texans running back Arian Foster sustains groin injury

A report suggests that Houston Texans running back Arian Foster has suffered a groin injury that could require surgery ahead of the 2015 season.

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster has sustained a groin injury which could require surgery, according to a report.

The 28-year-old has been an integral part of the club's offense for the past five seasons as he has recorded over 1,000 rushing yards in four of the five campaigns.

However, Foster could miss the start of the 2015 season after sustaining a significant groin injury at the end of his side's practice session on Monday which could require an operation, reports ESPN.

It has been suggested that the running back could be a candidate for the Texans' injured reserve designated to return spot, which would rule him out for the first few weeks of the season.

Foster has rushed for 6,309 yards and 53 touchdowns in his six years in the NFL.
