Green Bay Packers are poised to release quarterback Graham Harrell, according to a report.

Harrell has been in a battle for the backup quarterback job at Mike McCarthy's side with former first round pick Vince Young.

Young put in an impressive performance against the Seattle Seahawks in their pre-season clash along with good displays during training camp, leaving Harrell disposable, reports ESPN.

Green Bay will face the San Francisco 49ers in their regular season opener on September 8.
