Green Bay Packers working on Aaron Rodgers's contract

The Green Bay Packers say that agreeing a new contract for quarterback Aaron Rodgers is a priority.

The Green Bay Packers have said that reaching an agreement on a contract extension for Aaron Rodgers is a priority for the organisation.

The quarterback is in the penultimate year of his current deal with the Packers, having signed a seven-year contract in 2008.

Team president Mark Murphy told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: "It's a priority. I think as an organisation, I think we all want to see that get done.

"I think we've talked through with [vice president of player finance Russ Ball] and [general manager Ted Thompson] and we have more than enough resources to do whatever they need to do."

Rodgers has one Super Bowl win since joining the Packers in 2006, and was the league MVP 2011.
