Julius Thomas: 'Denver Broncos will use me more creatively next season'

Denver Broncos TE Julius Thomas says that he is "still scratching the surface" in footballing terms ahead of his versatile role within the team in 2014.

Denver Broncos tight end Julius Thomas has admitted that he hopes people will see a different side of his play next season.

Thomas enjoyed an excellent year with the Broncos in 2013, catching 65 receptions for 788 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Despite that, the fourth-year player is keen to keep learning, and he is hopeful that his versatility will be utilised in more creative situations next season.

He told Fox Sports: "What I think people will see different in me is that I'll be used a lot more creatively. I think there are a lot of things that our offense wanted to do with me, but you can only learn so much in one year.

"No matter how much time you have at practice, it never seems to be enough when you're learning and trying to come into your own.

"I think I'm still scratching the surface. I've had guys who have told me that playing football around Year 4 and Year 5, things start to click and then it all starts to make sense of what you're doing. I still think I have so far to go. I need to keep getting repetitions and keep getting comfortable with things."

Thomas has been with the Broncos since they selected him in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
