Report: Denver Broncos' Von Miller 'tried to cheat drug system'

Denver Broncos' linebacker Von Miller tried to cheat the NFL's drug-testing system with the help of a sample collector, says a report.

Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller tried to cheat the NFL's drug-testing system, according to a report.

In an article on ESPN.com on Sunday, league sources have been quoted as saying that Miller enlisted the help of a urine sample collector to try to beat the system before being caught and suspended by the NFL.

Under the NFL substance-abuse policy, Miller's initial sample counted as a positive test and while the NFLPA and the player's representatives were preparing to fight his suspension, they learnt of the attempts to avoid a failed sample.

According to the league source, the revelation helps to explain why Miller's four-game suspension suddenly jumped to six matches, and easily could have been up to a year.
