Tony Romo: 'I'm nearing fitness'

Dallas Cowboys qaarterback Tony Romo believes that his recovery from back surgery is ahead of schedule.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has revealed that his recovery from back surgery is going well, and that he expects to be fit for next month's organised team activities.

Romo said that there have been no setbacks in his recovery, and that he should be fully fit within a month, which is slightly ahead of schedule.

"It's going good," ESPN quotes Romo as saying. "We're getting close now.

"Usually takes three months, it's just a normal kind of roundabout date that they give you and we're right on schedule. Really ahead in a lot of ways.

"Just going to be ready to go here in about a month and rehab is going good, no setbacks of any kind. [My surgery] was just a normal small version of it, so I should be good to go here shortly."

Romo played 15 times for the Cowboys last season, completing 342 passes from 535 attempts in the process.
