Cleveland Browns coach Rob Chudzinski: 'I'm keeping all QB options open'

Rob Chudzinski says that he is keeping all options open before making a decision on his starting quarterback this weekend.

Cleveland Browns coach Rob Chudzinski is hoping to have both Jason Campbell and Brandon Weeden fit for the weekend, saying that a decision on who starts at quarterback may not be made until game day.

Both Campbell and Weeden are recovering from concussions that they have sustained in recent matches, meaning that the Browns are using veteran Caleb Hanie and new signing Alex Tanney in practice in case either needs to start against the New England Patriots on Sunday.

Chudzinski told the team's official website: "Right now, as we stand, Campbell and Weeden have both been cleared for activity, but not for practice. It's too difficult to know exactly when they'll be cleared through the process.

"We'll tailor the package to whichever guy ends up being the starter to what they can do and to what is going to be effective, hopefully, versus New England.

"I think we'll get a better sense though, as we get into practice and Hanie and Tanney are getting the reps, and we can go either direction once we get into that and get a feeling one way or the other. At this point, I will keep all the options open."

Campbell has been missing for the Browns since the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers a fortnight ago, while his replacement Weeden was injured in the defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars last weekend.
