Andy Dalton: 'I'm as confident as ever'

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton insists that he is as confident as ever despite going through the worst three-game spell of his career in recent weeks.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton has insisted that his confidence remains as high as ever despite his recent shaky form.

Dalton has thrown eight interceptions in his last three matches, while his completion percentage and total quarterback rating have also dropped in that period, making this the worst three-game spell of his career.

However, the Bengals still sit top of the AFC North with a 7-4 record, and Dalton believes that his side are in good shape going into the tail end of the regular season.

"I'm confident as ever. You have to have confidence. For us, as a team, we feel like we're in control of everything and that's where we want to be at this point," Dalton told reporters.

"We've done some good things and we've struggled in some areas. For us, the biggest thing is consistency. We've got to find ways to keep scoring points and to give ourselves a chance to win games.

"We've played some good teams and played some good defences. That's what it comes down to. The biggest thing for us is that we've got to find ways to win and it doesn't matter how we win, as long as we're winning. That's what we've got to do."

The Bengals were booed by their own fans when 13-0 down against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday before roaring back to secure a 41-20 victory.
