Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Geno Atkins will undergo an MRI scan later today to determine whether he has an ACL tear.

Geno Atkins has sustained a knee injury which the Cincinnati Bengals fear could end his season.

The defensive tackle left the AFC North side's 22-20 defeat to the Miami Dolphins last night with a right knee injury, which initial tests have indicated is likely to be an anterior cruciate ligament tear.

ESPN reports that the 25-year-old will undergo an MRI scan to assess the damage later today.

Atkins has made 20 tackles and six sacks so far this season.
