Dallas Clark: 'Joe Flacco drew me to Baltimore Ravens'

Baltimore Ravens tight end Dallas Clark says that the prospect of playing with quarterback Joe Flacco helped him decide to sign with the team.

Dallas Clark has revealed that he agreed to join the Baltimore Ravens in order to work with Joe Flacco.

The tight end, who has previously played for the Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, agreed a deal with the Super Bowl champions earlier this week.

The 34-year-old told the Ravens' website: "He's a gamer and just a great leader. He can flat-out play the game. As a receiving tight end, that was number one wherever I was going to go, they had to have a solid quarterback. This is better than that.

"You can talk about it all you want on the sideline and with the coaches, but I need to know what [Flacco is] thinking and where he needs me to be. That's how [former Colts quarterback] Peyton [Manning] and my relationship [worked] and why we had so much success. I'm looking forward to those conversations."

Recently-signed wide receiver Brandon Stokley added: "Any time that you can be on the same team as an elite quarterback, which Joe is, it makes the job for the offense so much easier, and especially for a receiver."

The Ravens signed Clark following training camp injuries to tight ends Dennis Pitta and Ed Dickson.
