Julio Jones rejects talk of contract dispute

Julio Jones promises his Atlanta Falcons teammates that he won't "hold out" for a bumper contract.

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones has dismissed the suggestion that he will hold out for a mega pay rise in his new contract.

The 26-year-old has one year left on his rookie deal and talks between him and the team are ongoing, but he has promised his teammates that he will be at his best this season.

He told ESPN: "I'm not going to hold out for anything. My teammates need me. I'm being selfish if I'm not here and doing what I need to do.

"Whatever they feel like I'm deserving of. I'm just here. I'm just trying to be the best teammate. I'm just trying to play. My thing is to play ball."

Jones has scored 26 touchdowns in his four-year career.
